The aim of the project is to to study the theme of silence related to Federico Fellini's cinema production. This analysis started from an in depth study of the video essay Federico Fellini: Le silence des rêves — by Nicolàs Longinotti for Troiscoleurs — which highlights the clear contraposition between the sound element of the worldly noise and the surreal silence typical of the director's oniric period.
Movies taken into consideration: La dolce vita (1960), 8½ (1963), Giulietta degli spiriti (1965), Fellini satyricon (1969), Roma (1972), Amarcord (1973), Il casanova di Federico Fellini (1976), La città delle donne (1980), Intervista (1987), La voce della luna (1990).

With this project, I tried to define the connection between cinema's use of silence and the dream theme. La voce della luna gives us a reading key useful to describe how silence now becomes the only thing worth pursuing. If in previous movies silence moments create a sense of disorientation, in this last one the main character finally understands how silence is the only thing able to orient his life.
